The Muniyal journey is a snow-capped mountain path that presents a breathtaking panoramic view of the nearby snow-capped summits. The route offers a fine balance between adventure and relaxation. With a gentle to moderate difficulty level, this trek is ideal for beginners and can be completed in 5-6 days.
The trek begins from the charming village of Wan, nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. While passing through the dense oak and rhododendron forests, you'll find yourself captivated by the remarkable vistas of the snow-capped peaks of Bedni top, Mt. Trishul, Megharthani, Chaukhamba, Nilkanth, Hathighoda Parvat, Nandaghunti, Bandarpunch, and more.
As you walk, you'll see beautiful blue skies and thick forests with different types of trees. You'll also pass through grassy meadows and climb up hills that aren't too steep.
Once you reach the top at 11,000 ft, you'll be rewarded with amazing views of the Garhwal Himalayas. You can see lots of big mountains like Jaonli, Gangotri, and Jogin, among others.

● Begin your journey early in the morning from Rishikesh to Wan, which is approximately 290 kilometres away and typically takes around 9 hours to reach.
● Enjoy the stunning scenery as you drive through the valleys and catch glimpses of distant mountains in the first light of dawn.
● Arrive in Wan by evening, where a friendly reception and a delicious dinner await you! After a day of travel, relax and get ready for the adventures ahead.
● Begin your day by enjoying a hearty breakfast before starting your trek, which covers approximately 4 kilometres and takes around 3 to 4 hours to complete, reaching an altitude of 9300 feet.
● The trail winds through dense forests, presenting a challenging ascent amidst the tranquil surroundings.
● As you pass the path, immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world, encountering diverse flora and fauna along the way. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of Himalayan wildlife, adding an element of excitement to your journey.
● Arrive at the campsite by evening, where a well-deserved rest and a satisfying dinner await you under the starlit sky.
● Enjoy a nourishing breakfast at Huneli to fuel up for the day's trek towards Huneli. The trek covers approximately 3 kilometres and takes about 2 hours, reaching an altitude of 12,000 feet.
● The trail unfolds gradually, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and towering peaks.
● As you ascend to an elevation of 3000m, marvel at the majestic beauty of Mt. Nanadaghugati and the surrounding mountain ranges. It offers stunning views, allowing you to observe Mt. Nandaghugati up close, along with other mountain ranges such as Chaukhambha, Neelkanth, Kedarnath, and Kedar Dome.
● Upon reaching the summit point at Monal/Muniyal summit, a magnificent panorama of the Garhwal Himalayas range unfolds before our eyes, offering a mesmerising view of the towering peaks and the quaint villages nestled in the valley below. Take some time to soak in the awe-inspiring scenery and appreciate the serenity of the mountains.
● Reach Huneli by evening, where you'll settle in for the night amidst the peacefulness of the mountains, enjoying a well-deserved rest and a sumptuous dinner.
● As we bid farewell to the peaceful surroundings of Kukina Khal, we'll start our return trek to Wan village. The journey covers a distance of approximately 5 kilometres and is expected to take around 3 to 4 hours to complete. You will pass through the scenic landscapes, relishing the sights and sounds of the wilderness that surrounds you.
● As you descend towards Waan, take in the beauty of the terrain, pausing to appreciate the natural wonders that abound. Arrive at Waan by evening, where you'll spend the night in the rest of the house provided, reminiscing about the experiences of your journey.
● Wrap up your adventure with a relaxed drive back to Rishikesh. Take time to remember the fun times and friendships made during your trip to the Himalayas.
● As you bid farewell to the mountains, carry with you the cherished moments and the sense of fulfilment that comes from exploring nature's wonders.
Accommodation: There will be lodge or homestay accommodation at the base camp, and during the trekking, there'll be shared tents arrangement, ensuring safety throughout your journey.
All Inner Line Permits: We take care of all necessary forest department permissions for your trek, ensuring a smooth and legally compliant journey through the designated areas.
Safety gear: First aid, medical kits, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, etc., will be accessible at all campsites for handling emergencies.
Meals: Enjoy hygienic and nourishing meals prepared by our local cooks, providing the energy you need to tackle each day of your trekking adventure.
Transportation: We arrange transportation from the pickup point to the base camp and any necessary transfers during the trek, ensuring convenient access to the trekking routes.
