Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Base Camp

Drive: 165 km | Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude: approx 7,874 ft

Arrive in Rishikesh, the gateway to the Himalayas. Transfer to Duggal Bitta, your base camp amidst the calm mountains. Explore the village, interact with locals, and enjoy a delicious dinner.

 

Day 2: Acclimatization and Deoria Tal Trek

Trek: 3 km | Duration: 1-2 hours | Altitude: approx 7,999 ft | Altitude gain: approx 125 ft


Drive from Duggal Bitta to Sari Village, the starting point for the Deoria Tal trek. Trek to Deoria Tal, a picturesque alpine lake, surrounded by lush meadows and towering mountains. Return to Sari Village and then drive back to Duggal Bitta.

 

Day 3: Trek to Chandrashila Summit

Drive: 12 km | Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: approx 12,110 ft | Altitude gain: approx  4111 ft

Drive from Duggal Bitta to Chopta. Trek to Chandrashila summit, passing through the sacred Tungnath temple. Enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. Return to Duggal Bitta.

 

Day 4: Return to Rishikesh

Drive: 165 km | Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude: approx 7,874 ft

Depart from Duggal Bitta and drive back to Rishikesh, reflecting on your unforgettable adventure.

Day 1 Arrival in Rishikesh and Transfer to Duggal Bitta

Begin your journey from Rishikesh, a spiritual city nestled along the banks of the Ganges River. As the sun paints the sky with hues of gold and orange, embark on a scenic drive toward the Himalayas. The drive to Ushara Village offers a glimpse into Uttarakhand's diverse landscapes. Witness the transition from the plains to the foothills, where the mountains begin to rise majestically. Day 2 Acclimatization and Deoria Tal Trek

Begin your day by driving from Duggal Bitta to Sari Village, the starting point for the Deoria Tal trek. The drive will take approximately 1-2 hours, offering scenic views of the surrounding mountains. Embark on a moderate trek to Deoria Tal, a picturesque alpine lake surrounded by lush meadows and towering peaks. The trek is approximately 3 kilometers long and takes around 1-2 hours to complete. Upon reaching Deoria Tal, take a leisurely walk around the lake, admiring its serene beauty and capturing stunning photographs. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance and soak in the natural beauty of the surroundings. After spending time at Deoria Tal, retrace your steps and return to Sari Village. From Sari Village, drive back to Duggal Bitta for the night, allowing yourself time to rest and recover from the day's activities.

Day 3 Trek to Chandrashila Summit

Drive: 12 km | Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: approx 12,110 ft | Altitude gain: approx  4111 ft.

Begin your day by driving from Duggal Bitta to Chopta, a picturesque village nestled amidst the Himalayas. The drive will take approximately 1-2 hours. From Chopta, embark on the trek to Tungnath Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The trek is approximately 3 kilometers long and takes around 1-2 hours to complete. Along the way, you'll pass through lush forests and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Upon reaching Tungnath Temple, take a moment to soak in the spiritual ambiance and explore the temple complex. The temple offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and is a popular pilgrimage site. From Tungnath Temple, continue your trek to Chandrashila Summit, the highest point of the trek. The ascent is challenging but rewarding, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. The trek is approximately 1.5 kilometers long and takes around 1-2 hours to complete. Upon reaching the summit, be prepared to be awestruck by the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Kamet, Dunagiri, Chaukhamba, Kedar Dome, Thalay Sagar, Gangotri ranges, Jahanukut, and more. How to reach the base camp

The nearest railway station to the base camp of the Chandrashila trek is Haridwar Junction. From Haridwar, you can choose from various transportation options to reach Duggal Bitta, the base camp.

By Road

Embark on a scenic journey of approximately 165 kilometers from Haridwar to Duggal Bitta. The drive takes around 5-6 hours and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The route passes through picturesque towns like Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Ukhimath, and Chopta. You can opt for a private taxi, government bus, or shared cab for this journey.

By Train

Board a train to Haridwar Junction, a well-connected railway station. From there, you start the journey to Duggal Bitta. The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours, allowing you to enjoy the scenic landscapes along the way.

By Air

If you prefer to fly, the nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. From Dehradun, you can hire a private taxi or take a bus to Haridwar
